TSA Approved List and traveling Internationally
 

I arrived at the Singapore airport with my boarding passes printed up, but the airport will not allow one into the secured area unless the airline has printed up the boarding pass, so I had to wait from 11:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. to get checked in. Luckly, I had gone to iTunes on my computer back at the hotel and downloaded "Meet the Press," "Fox News Sunday," "Rachel Maddow" and the NBC Evening News. The iTunes podcasts are free and are great when traveling.

When I checked in I was given my boarding passes, including my boarding pass from San Francisco to Orlando. Unfortunately, it did not say TSA approved. However, I had printed up the boarding passes that United sent me and that boarding pass did say TSA Approved. Guess which boarding pass I used in San Francisco?

Also, talking about Singapore airport, I was told by the flight attendant that the airport does not allow pre-flight alcoholic drinks. Does anyone know any other airports that do this?

If you consider it lucky to have downloaded those shows then you and I live on different planets.

What is wrong with the NBC Evening News?

Rachel Maddow and Fox News Sunday; now that is about as left and right as it gets.

Sounds great except for the Fox News part but I guess all that shouting would keep you awake....

Fox News Sunday is on the broadcast side - not the News Channel/cable side (though it is re-aired on FNC later in the day)

Hosted by Chris Wallace - very little shouting involved and as or more balanced than any of the other Sunday shows.

Totally different animal than some of the more partisan shows on FNC.

I fly through Changi quite a lot - I'm not sure what you mean by 'airport doesn't allow pre-flight alcoholic drinks'? Do you mean once you're aboard a plane, prior to take off?

Thought about Wally on my recent SFO-ICN flight on OZ. Seatmate was on his 3rd beer when he got his special ordered meal, meaning before I got mine, and was cut off by FA. He asked if I drink beer and wanted me to get a beer for him. I politely declined.

This guy drank 52 beers between Melbourne and London. This is sure to be the record. Hope he had an isle seat.

I like wine with my meal as I don't drink sodas, but I'm finding that it is best to drink in the lounge before getting on the plane. On my flight from Newark to Hong Kong I just kept saying to myself, serve the meal so I can take a nap.

Melnq8: I was told by the flight attendant on the plane in Singapore that the airport does not allow alcohol in pre-flight drinks. Luckly, I had lounge access from 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. which made for a very late happy hour.

SIA offers water, orange juice and champagne to Business Class customers prior to take off from Singapore, which is why I'm confused. Unless it's changed recently.
