Traveling to Italy
I am planning a trip to Italy in November and plan to fly into Rome and out of Venice, most airlines have a lay over in Paris, would it be best to take a train there and then depart?? please help
|
No, it would not be best to take a train to/from Paris. It would be best to get a connecting flight to/from your destination.
You don't say from where you are flying. I like to use www.kayak.com to look for flight options, then book directly with the airline that offers the best fare & connection. Which airlines have a layover in Paris. Surely not Lufthansa, KLM, or BA. Assuming you are flying from the US, they you have a choice of a European or US based airline. AA, United/CO, and Delta all offer many options to a European hub, connecting on Italy on a European carrier. You also have the option to fly from some US cities to Europe hub on an Asian carrier. Jet (Brussels) and Singapore (Frankfurt) are two good options. |
Most flights do NOT "layover" in Paris
cheapoair.com kayak.com/buzz Easy to do an "open-jaw" ROM VCE although usually lots more than RT...Save a lot usually on AA.com RT MXP(Milan) or ROM then cheap regional trains from 2 euro per hour Cozy up to a good Fodor's gold guide do lots more research Happy Travels! |
thank you. I am from Orange County and flying out of John Wayne Airport. Since I am spending at least $1,000 on the flight I thought why not go to Paris too!

Why not fly out of LAX instead and see if you can't get a nonstop flight into Rome?
