It has been a long long year since being there. What about all of those flights? Do they all get paperwork saying where they are going before they leave the airport I can buy a ticket today for a flight from Fl to Albany but then what? Orlando had no procedure.

Solution #2 Have puppy shipped on a nonstop flight.
My friend shipped a puppy to her niece last week. Baltimore to LA.

FYI: The eastbound Amtrak Lakeshore Limited leaves Cleveland station at 5:50AM on Sunday 12/27 and arrives in Albany/Rennsaleer about 2:30PM. The return westbound train loads at about 7PM and is back in Cleveland on Monday morning. All Amtrak coach seats are currently window seats. Depending on the size of the dog, they can be taken onboard trains.

Tom, that is what I don't understand. The train goes into Albany from Ohio and back again. What happens to those people? It is totally an honor system I guess. If you did do this take a few pee pads with you to the loo so pup can pee.

I suspect it is pretty much an honor system. Could the breeder/owner meet you with the dog in another state/airport or train station? The eastbound LSL arrives in Erie PA sometime after 7AM. The westbound LSL is in Erie sometime very early in the morning. The handoff could happen on the platform in Erie and the owner could take the train back to Albany. The station building in Erie is open during the night until shortly after the eastbound train leaves. Check to see what flights are available from Erie going west.

How about you adopt a pup in your state and someone else adopts the pup in NY? Efficiency and a lot less stress and expense.

Or they could adopt an older dog that has been languishing in a shelter for years.
