Travel insurance and Delta airlines

Searching for travel insurance, reading small print I was shocked to see, Delta is excluded from coverage on some companies' lists. Did you know that?

That's correct. Many insurance policies do not cover airlines already in bankruptcy court filing when you buy the ticket.

Out of curiosity, anyone know the timeline re: Delta's bankruptcy/reorganization? Are they about to come out of it? Is there still conflict over contracts with pilots or whomever? Is there a deadline for end of Chap. 11?

No, I don't think there's a limit. UA spent almost two years when they were in last time.

Currently, NW is ahead of DL in its Ch11 process, even though the two of them filed on the same date. To complicate matter, the USAirways hostile bid for DL is making things more complex.

Delta is planning on exiting chapter 11 this spring.

Oh, so this is because of the bankruptcy! I was not smart enough to connect the dots :)
