Trans Air
 

Usually fly Northwest - but with all the cancelled flights recently, considering booking with Trans Air for our flight to Ft. Lauderdale in Feb. 2008. Anyone have any pros/cons about this airline? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you talking about ATA (used to be called American Trans Air)? It is a partner of Southwest, and flies to areas that WN doesn't want to go, like Hawaii and LaGuadia.

Yes I believe so. Was just looking at my husband's notes about airfares and he has "Trans Air" written down to check their fares. Should have mentioned that we will be flying out of Detroit Metro to Ft. Lauderdale.

Most likely Air Tran....Looks like Spirit Air has non stops, Southwest couple of direct and Air Tran connex via ATL.

Yeah, ATA doesn't go to FLL. It's most likely Valujet, er, I mean AirTran, as BeachBoi suggested.

rkk...Funny how there was a thread or comment earlier this week that Air Tran is now charging for seat assignments...I asked my T/A and he said if he books it online, there is no charge for the seats.If I book it online, they're gonna charge me....Odd that FL would charge the general public but no tthe TA's of the universe..Just wanted to share...peace........S
