Ticketed on the ANA 787
 

I've got a first class ticket on OZ to Japan in November and learned that ANA was offering intra-Japan flights starting November 1, so I looked into it.

The one-way fare at fly-ana was $375+ for Okayama (OKJ) to Tokyo Haneda (HND). The premium fare was only $35 or so more.

So, I called ANA to find out if I could get a Star Alliance Air Pass ticket. The fare is 10,000 JPY or $131. Add in a $25 phone ticketing fee and $8.70 in taxes for a ticket price of only $164.70. Much better. ANA will hold the reservation for 72 hours.

I tried using the Continental website to find an award seat but could not. The search didn't find any flights.

Today, I called United. for an award ticket and got exactly what I wanted. There was no phone fee (for a 1K) and NO taxes charged for the ticket. The sweet part of it is that it only cost <b>6,000 miles</b>.. It is a short flight, but that is dirt cheap.

Here is the schedule for the ANA 787 (HIJ =Hiroshima):

NH651 HND 07:30 -> 08:50 OKJ
NH654 OKJ 10:15 -> 11:30 HND

NH683 HND 16:15 -> 17:45 HIJ
NH686 HIJ 19:20 -> 20:40 HND

Hm, the ANA flight from LAX to HND gets in at 5:15 AM. Probably could get an award to connect from that to the 7:30 flight to Okayama.
