"This route is pending regulatory approval."
Hi,
I am looking into wizzair next week flights regarding a certain route, and their website says:
This route is pending regulatory approval.
However, Kiwi.com sells these flights.
What if the route remains pending?
Kiwi says that Wizzair will refund me / offer alternative date, but will I have to go through some hassles until I get my money back from Wizzair?
I wonder as well how Wizzair is going to refund me in that case.
Another thing please, is that Kiwi says there is no guaranty when I'll be notified if the flight takes place or not, could it be just the day before (or even few hours before, as happens when there is bad weather?)
Thanks a lot!

If Wizzair still says the route is pending approval, you can bet money that you won't be able to fly it next week. Airlines need to adjust their crew and equipment schedules, get ground services lined up and gates assigned, and any number of other logistical steps, before they can start flying a route with customers. Sometimes it can take as long as a year between getting a route authorized and the first flight.
Where are you going to and from where? In many cases the major European carriers have adjusted their prices to meet (and sometimes beat) the LCCs, or when you add up all the nuisance costs the LCCs add you're not much better off than flying a legacy airline.

There are so many mom-and-pop third-party fare sellers now, it's a jungle out there. By all means browse the (sometimes unrealistic) offers, but if you buy from an outfit that might be somebody's bedroom with a high-powered computer, what are you going to do when you're at the airport with a serious problem about your ticket and the airline says "You didn't buy this from us, talk to the seller?" and the seller is not to be found?
Shop around all you want, but if you want to be sure, buy from the airline. Anything else is a gamble - and some gambles pay off, some don't. How risk-averse are you?
But in this case, if the airline itself says they're not ready, then all bets are off, right?

I don't know bout Kiwi but I've had that happen on a flight from the US to Mexico, I think it was on Delta out of Atlanta to BJX. It said this up until departure, I believe. I was using FF points and really wanted that flight, so booked it. Everything went off fine.
That may be different than Wizzair and I also knew I would have no problem dealing with Delta if that flight didn't happen. Delta is also a big legacy carrier so I figured it would be more likely the route would get approved if they thought it would.
