TSA says liquids can not be more than 3.3 in size. Anyone found a place to get a bottle that size.

I have seen bottles that are 4, 5 or 6 ounces and some that are 2 but nothing 3.3?

Go to Europe and buy some 100ml bottles.

I have found a good selection of TSA approved sized empty bottle that you fill with your own stuff in the Health and Beauty section of WalMart for less than $1 each. Some with pump dispensers, some with caps, some with push up tops.

They are usually at end of an aisle, where the trial size things are located.

Thanks Debi for such a nice answer. At least everyone has them in a Zip-Lock bag so if they leak, I can lick the bag.

I put a bit of clear plastic over the open top, then screw on the cover and put a bit of duck tape over the cap. I prefer no leaks in the 1 qt ziplock. But hey, call me crazy! You are welcome Wally!

TSA switched to 3.3 fluid oz exactly because most of the world has moved on to the metric system and it's a lot more common to find containers and products that are 100ml than, say, 90ml.

The Container Store has great bottles that don't leak.

I haven't been able to find any TSA information saying that 3.3 oz containers are now allowed. Their website still specifies 3 oz. The change would be great because there are so many gels and liquids that are packaged in 3.3 oz (100 ml) containers, even here in the US.

I hate to warm this issue up, but as I will be traveling soon TO the U.S. and than BACK to Europe, I will have 100ml bottles in my carry-on.

Doing some research on TSA's website was not that much help: On the regular 3-1-1 pages they mention 3oz - but on the TSA sites in other languages (German), 3oz equal either 90ml (in one icon on p.1 of that pdf) or 100ml (on p.1 in the text, and on p.2 of that very same pdf leaflet).

But as the TSA says in its leaflets in French and Spanish that 3oz equal 100ml, I have to admit that one should be on the safe side with the 100ml bottles... at least I hope so.. maybe I better print out a Spanish language leaflet and take it with me ;-)

Just buy one six-pack of those little whisky bottles and enjoy the contents. Then reuse the bottles on your return trip, refilling them from the half gallon bottle in your checked bag. Don't forget to save the caps, too!
