Thai Airlines - Premium Economy vs. Economy

I am using FF miles for my trip on Thai Airlines from LAX-BKK in economy class. The agent told me that at the gate I may be abe to purchase an upgrade to Premium Economy for around $200. I would have made the purchase on the phone but they would not allow me to do that.

Has anyone flown their PE and have an opinion on that class vs. regular Economy and if it is worth the extra money.

Thanks.

It's a long flight. For me, it would be worth it for the extra space. Look at seatguru.com for specifics:

Craig,

If they will allow me to pay the extra money, it's definitey worth it.Since I am using ff miles, they may have an issue with that. I'm wondering if in PE the seats recline more than in regular economy.

Yes, they do - 122 degrees w/ a footrest. They won't have an issue - an upgrade from economy to premium will be $200 regardless of whether it was obtained with ff tix or not.

Craig,

In that case I will definitely upgrade to premium economy. I only wish they would let me pay before I arrive at the airport. The footrest would be great especially since the flight is 17 hours. Thanks so much for the info.

the reason they don't let you book on he phone is because it MAY not be available. so don't count on it. If they sell enough seats in PE it will not be offered at checkin.
