TED airlines?
Is this a new airline? It looks they don't penalize you for flying one-way. Only the routes are very limited.
I tried to check a route which TED doesn't fly, and the website took me over to United. How do you learn about new airlines? |
It's the discount arm of United. Like Song (of Delta), Continental Lite, etc - all have failed, so we'll see how long TED will survive. It has taken over some of UA's routes, and like other discount airlines, have no first class service.
How do I learn about new airlines? Well, I go to flyertalk.com often, and I also read news release headlines from all airlines on a Yahoo Finance page: biz.yahoo.com/n/y/y0002.html |
I thought Ted was gone and remerged into United.
|
Oh no, Ted's still very much around...although from the price, many times you can't tell the difference between him and United. You might be thinking of Song/Delta.
|
Nope. Song was gone, but TED is still here. UA has bucked the trend of simplying operations by going the other way. 4-class planes, TED and p.s. service, etc. And DEN has become a major hub for them to compete with Frontier.
|
I think we might see the United name replaced by "Ted."

You are correct, I was confusing Ted with Song - I should know that since I flew Ted in February.
I flew 4 flights in 5 days, 3 on United, 1 on Ted. There was absolutely no difference I would see among any of the flights. |
TED is part of uniTED. Their A320 has Economy Plus seating with 36" seat pitch.
|
The main difference is that Ted doesn't have a first class cabin.....well, that and they won't serve you a full can of soda.
