Talk to a real person at these airlines...
<Double posted on Europe forum>
Folks, The good people at Cheapflights.com have posted a list of phone numbers and tips for various airlines that purportedly allow you to skip customer service hell, e.g., "Press 1 if you ..." I can't vouch for how long it will take the airlines to change these numbers, but until then, here's the link, complete with tricks about how to "Talk to a real person: Press 2, then press 2 again:" http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/travel...heatsheet.html Hope it comes in handy. |
BTW, hotels and tour companies are also included. Handy tricks include "How to talk to a real person: Press 2, then press 2 again."

Here's help for defeating the phone bots at U.S. airlines (and lots of other companies, too):

Of course that real person will most likely be in India with heavily accented and limited English vocabulary and will be worthless...in fact you can count on that if it is United Airlines...absolutely the most worthless customer service of all. It is obvious why that airline is bankrupt and should stay that way...the best thing would to be just put UA out of it's misery. Shut it down.

UA is out of bankruptcy as of today.

Perhaps rare but I got FF miles to MSP from LAX and the representative was very pleasant and helpful :-B
