Swiss Airlines coach class travel
Can anyone offer a review of their experience on Swiss Air coach class? I am interested in flying Swiss Air from Chicago to Florence and return and don't know much about them. Are they comparable to British Airways or United or American etc. ? Let me know. thanks!

Swiss air coach is fine. If I recall the seat pitch (and therefore legroom) is less than on Lufthansa, but nothing that would be a problem unless you are 6'.
In flight entertainment selection is good. Food is adequate. Connecting through Zurich is very easy. Last time I was through there about a year ago it took me all of 25min to get from my incoming plane from NY, through immigration, security, to my departure gate. |
The airline's name is Swiss International, or just SWISS. There used to be an airline named Swissair, but it went out of business.
By any criteria that I'm aware of, they are better than any of the airlines you listed. |
I'm just under 6' and find the leg/knee room on Swiss to be very uncomfortable. I prefer to fly UA with economy plus, or upgrade to business class.
My in-flight video on Swiss has sometimes worked and sometimes not. I've flown ORD-ZRH and back more times than I can count, and I really do not like making the trip on Swiss. Sorry....... (jmho, but I've had experience) |
As mentioned already, there is no Swiss Air any longer. I flew them within Europe years ago and they were great then. I like British Air a LOT better than United or American. I'm no expert but there's no comparison between pretty much all European airlines and any US airlines.

I like flying SWISS. Their interior amenities are up to date and very nice. They used to be partners with AA, but now are partners with UA.
Here's their seat plan http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Swi...A340-300_B.php This is for the A340, but check out the A330 by clicking on the left. Looks like the small cabin might be good, but be aware of it possibly being baby city. Often times the changing stations are along the bulkhead. |
From ORD I believe Swiss uses the A330-300.
