Summer travel to Frankfurt
 

I am having a horrible time finding a reasonable airfare from Pittsburgh to Frankfurt for this summer. The fares are almost double from what I paid as recently as 2009. Can anyone give me some advice or websites, please!

Flights are higher this summer. I'm trying to book a flight from New York to Prague. I check Kayak everyday. I've also subscribed to all kinds of fare alerts for that route, and have been looking at alternate routes like New York to Berlin, Vienna or Frankfurt. I'll be happy to get close then train it the rest of the way.

I think Flyer said it best - check other places to fly from/to. I usually check all the East Coast cities when flying to Frankfurt and see which one has the lowest fares. Newark is usually the one so perhaps you could consider flying from there. Also, look at flying into London or Paris and then going from there. If you can get a good deal flying into Paris, it doesn't take long to get to Frankfurt by train and you can often get a really good deal on tickets. Last year, DBahn was having a sale on tickets for anyone who had something other than a German passport, for instance.

Here's the thing: I have the matrix2.itasoftware.com website bookmarked and when I click on this bookmark, I can go there no problem. But when I type in the same address, no go. Can't figure this out but going to the main site works every time.
