Summer airfares to Europe
Just curious if anyone has information as to when prices for summer travel to europe may fall a bit? They seem to be running quite a bit higher at this point compared to last year.
Thanks |
Just heard on the local news the "fuel surcharge" is up around $20 bucks this year. The airlines are trying to raise fares not lower them. I expect there will be some sales, but you may be paying more in 2011 (aren't you for everything else?)

great tips on when to catch the lowest fares usually Tues PM in late Jan when all get desparate and match sales. |
Right now the airlines are running winter specials usually through March. I would consider booking in mid March. Look for new flights--flights that have been added recently by the airlines. Sometimes they will offer a special.

Picking up on wally's post--American has some new flights: JFK to BUD and ORD to HEL. If neither of those are your final destination you can connect thru those cities. I have also discovered award availability is good using those flights.

Thank you for your responses. Looks like we'll wait until March

Just booked in April mid-late with Continental
they just put some sales on for $529 RT all in Florida to Italy via HOU... not too great connections but cheap. |
I just received an E-mail from American this morning about a winter/spring sale to Europe rather than a summer one. Begin travel by April 3 and complete travel by June 3. Travel Monday through Thursday. Purchase tickets by January 11. Book at aa.com.
