They weren't <i>FORCED</i> to ground any plane - please, if you are going to continue with your vendetta against an airline you've never even flown on, at least don't post false information. They grounded the planes voluntarily to do 90 minute re-inspections on them. This is being discussed on the other threads.

On March 12, 2008, Southwest Airlines was <u>forced</u> to ground 44 planes to check if they needed further inspection.

From today's Wall Street Journal:
"<b>Southwest Airlines Co. had to do repairs on four of the 38 planes it grounded</b> Wednesday for maintenance reinspections, another sign of safety record-keeping problems at the Dallas low-fare carrier."

So you're not concerned that a US airline ignored mandatory inspections, grounded 10% of its fleet, and found necessary repairs on 4 of the grounded planes?
No concern?
What, are you the CEO of South"worst"?

OK, guys, STOP THE BICKERING....From this morning's Dallas Morning News....and, for hose who don't know, Southwest Airlines is headquartered in Dallas......"Meanwhile, on many of the Web's biggest travel sites, Southwest's troubles drew only moderate comment.A search Thursday morning for "Southwest" and "safety" at Tripadvisor returned only two discussion threads, neither with more than a dozen comments." Someone is unimpressed with Fodors???

I guess that, in the future, airlines will simply decide not to say anything at all to the FAA rather than admit that they missed a deadline and pay a $10 million fine. I'm sure that will do wonders for safety.
