Singapore FF

A few questions about Singapore Airlines:

1) Can I pick my seats when I book online?
2) Are they partners with Continental/Delta i.e. Sky team member?
3) If I fly them can I give them my Continental number and have my miles accrue to Continental?
4) Do they allow a stop over in Singapore like Cathay does for Hong KONG?
5) HAS ANYONE FLOWN THIS ROUTE WITH THEM- HOUSTON-MOSCOW-SINGAPORE-MANILA?

SQ is part of the Star Alliance, so you will NOT have an opportunity to credit your miles outside of that alliance. Sorry.

With respect to stopovers, you haven't given us sufficient information regarding the ticket type/restrictions/class of service for anyone to give you an answer.
Generally, a stop over would not be a problem, but could well cost you more money.

I have not flown SQ on the route you suggest.
Best, Dave

Any problem getting seats assigned online at time of booking? We would be going coach in march 2009. Cathay usually allows a stopover in Hong Kong with no extra charge- I was wondering if Sing did the same for Singapore?

While SQ isn't Skyteam, they are partners with several non-Star Alliance airlines. I don't know about CO, but you can earn spendable DL Skymiles just not elite qualification miles.

Patty Mar 3rd, 2008 09:15 AM

I don't see them on the CO partner list http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...e/default.aspx

I should add that if you're going to credit to DL, you need to make sure you've booked a mileage earning fare class.

Mileage may be earned on Singapore Airlines-coded and operated flights. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in I, O, X, G, N, Q, T, or V class, or for tickets issued as part of a cruise package.

Bill - The IAH-DME-SIN flight hasn't started, so no one can answer #5 for you. ;)

Interesting that I found that route on their website. Now can one book seats with Singapore online- I seem to recall having problems in getting seats assigned when one books their flights?

We fly Singapore Air quite often and have never had a problem selecting our seats via their website.

I haven't booked any flights with SQ online. I usually use a travel agent as I fly with SQ for work once or twice a month. The agent has my preference for seats. In the event I don't like the seat - when I check in online 48 hours before the flight's departure, I can choose my seat - depending on the availability.

Starts 20 March, in 'my experience' SQ are happy for people to stopover in SIN but as others have said do check the fare basis to allow for that.
Pity it's next year, they seem to have some good deals going for March to may this year

Plan to use 777-300's.

If Singapore s/over wasn't that important remember Emirates do IAH-Dubai-Manila

Thanks James- a stop over in Sing is not really needed- I was just wondering if it was provided free we might do that for a day or two. I will keep Emerates in mind- right now I have plugged a variety of dates in on their website and their fares look about twice what Singapore offers. They are partners with Continetal thats a plus so if they run some specials we would be interested in going with them.

Keep in mind that if you fly EK, you only get base miles on CO Onepass. No bonus and EQMs, except on selected flights between LGW and DXB. The IAH-DXB and onward flights only get base miles.
