Silk Air - Need to show credit card?
In the past, when I've flown Silk Air, they have requested to see the credit card with which I purchased the tickets at the time of check-in. A month or so after I purchased my tickets, American Express sent me a new card even though the old one had not expired. The new card is for the same account, but it has a different number.
I called Singapore Air to see what I could do to expidite check-in without the credit card. After 20+ minutes, the agent told me that it was ok, my ticket had been "verified." Anyone have experience with a similar situation? I'm sure I've read of a similar situation from someone here (lcuy?) and it was a big problem. |
Twice. Once I phoned Air Canada and they said don't worry about it. Earlier this year I had a different card when we checked in with Taca in Peru. They didn't ask to see the card.

Thanks, that is encouraging.

This happened to me on Singapore Air. Turns out all they did was check the name on the card, not the number. No drama.

Oh, good, that is reassuring, Melnq8.

If you still have it, why not just take the old (and now useless) card with you? If they ask, show them, then cut it up and throw it away!
|
lcuy, of course, I don't have it - I didn't think about this issue until I had shredded it.

Considering bringing with you a copy of your credit card statement with the ticket charge on it. That will show the name on the card and the number on the card that will correspond with the number under which the ticket was purchased.

Just like when I was cleaning out my computer recently. Dumped a bunch of very old stuff that I knew I'd never need again. Needed one of them about a week later... :-)
