Shortened connection time at FCO

We have a flight connection Fiumicino (FCO) from Alitalia from Venice to IHop to Bordeaux. When I made the booking, the connection was a comfortable one hour and 35 minutes. It is now only 35 minutes. We arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 1B. I have no experience making connections in Rome. BTW, this is all on a single Air France ticket and we will be checking luggage at VCE. Does anyone have any thoughts on this connection? Should I try to change it? Many thanks to all.

Your flight is Venice to FCO? Here's the FCO maps.

I would not do a 35min connection at any airport.

According to ExpertFlyer, the minimum 'legal' connecting time is 45 minutes.

I'd call AF and get them to change your flights. (When you call, don't limit yourself to changing in FCO -- decent connections with AF partners are available in Paris and Amsterdam.

Don,

I called Air France, and the agent couldn't believe that the booking had been made. She said that if she tried to put that in the computer it would have been rejected.

In any event, after the laughter subsided, she changed the booking to one that had a total travel time of only one half hour longer and a 50 minute connection in Amsterdam, which I have done more times than I care to remember.

Don,

I hit submit before the most important part of the message.

Thank you for your help.
