Seat Assignments on Air France PE?

Awhile back you all were very helpful in telling me to book Premium Economy on Air France rather than on Delta, because I'd be more sure to have no trouble getting the Premium economy seats.

But I think it was rkkwan who said it is easier to get seat assignments on Delta.

So is there some way to get the seat assignments if I book with Air France? Once I book the flights on the Internet, do they then give you a choice of seats? Or what do you suggest??

Many thanks, fodorite flyers! You are all awesome in your knowledge

I don't think I made that claim, but I don't see why AF won't let you pick seats right away after you book, or while you book.

I just did a mock booking on airfrance.us, and at the 3rd step "Reservation", before you enter payment information, you can choose your seat by doubling clicking the box near the bottom of the page. It may not work on all browser, but the process is there.

You can pick your seat in advance in Premium Voyageur (long haul, international version of PE), not in Premium Economy within Europe. I just booked both. Air France says that you can put in a request for window or aisle in PE at the time of booking, but I never found the option while doing my reservation.
