Santorini to Rome - question re layover time

I'm in the planning stage for our honeymoon to Greece and Italy in August and am having a bit of trouble with flights to and from the islands. I think I've settled the getting to Mykonos problem for the first leg of our trip, but I'm having trouble getting us from Santorini to Rome. I'd like to spend the least amount of time in transit as possible, and the best I can do is a 6:55am flight from Santorini on Aegan with a connection on Aegan to Rome at 8:45am. The question is - is an hour enough time in between flights? I can't figure out if we'd stay on the same plane or have to do the mad dash across the airport. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Those are two different flights, so definitely have to deplane and reboard (likely) at another gate. But ATH is not a big airport, and all/most Aegean flights should be nearby, so dashing across airport. Also, chance of any early flight (6:55a) being delayed is slim, so I think it's okay.

In the past Agean has had a summer flight that connects directly to Rome from Santorini. It may be too early for Agean to have posted their summer schedule. Last year we were in Santorini in October and just missed that flight by about a week. The only alternative then was to connect through Athens but the connecting times were awful. We ended up spending the night in Athens prior to going to Rome.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone have any idea when Aegean posts the summer schedule? We actually went ahead and booked the 655am flight connecting in Athens but now I'm thankful we paid the extra for a changeable flight if it's likely additional summer flight options will be added.
