San Francisco airport

We will be arriving from the UK on Virgin and have to make a connection on American from Termnal 3. What is the best way to get between terminals?

You can either take the AirTrain or walk. The terminals are connected. It'll take 5min by AirTrain, or about a 10min walk.

Virgin uses International Terminal A, AA Gates 60-67 in Terminal 3.

I would just walk straight through the Main Hall myself. It's open and airy, and there are numerous eateries and shops in the public areas of the Main Hall.

Dear J62,
Thanks for your help. It would appear that we actually need to get to Alaska Airlines - it is a code share with American but need to check in with Alaska. ANy idea which terminal they use and if we could walk to there as well?

Alaska uses Terminal 1/B gates (20-24ish). Walking will be faster than AirTrain.

All terminals are connected by the free "train" AirTran if you don't want to walk with luggage.

Definitely walk if it's Alaska. Walking distance might actually be equal if walking to/from the AirTrain station is included.
