Round the World Ticket
Where can I purchase a "round the world" airline ticket at a reasonable price? US to Cusco, Peru to Madrid to London (overland) to Rome to Perth, Australia to US.
|
I think you definitely want the OneWorld Alliance carriers. See www.oneworld.com. To book a ticket, I would consider a Travel Agent because it can be complicated, but also try American.
|
Round the world tickets require that you head in one direction, no back tracking. And yes they are complicated. Some consolidators specialize in them. Agree with x that you find an agent with good international ticketing experience.

Air Brokers International has been in the business of selling custom RTW tickets for a long time: http://www.airbrokers.com/

Look at the Sunday New York Times travel section for lots of ads from other agencies that do it.

Just FYI - oneworld no longer requires that you fly in one direction as long as you stay within the allocated number of miles.

H

I have used http://www.airtreks.com and they were great, very professional. I would not hesitate to use them again, or recomend them. We went RTW in Sept 1999 From New York, London, Delhi, Bankok, Malaysia, Bali, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and back to NY. The fare was about $1700.00 US each.

The airlines used were Air India, NY to LON and onto Delhi Days later, AI again to Bangkok. Air Malaysia, Garuda, Air Malysia to Hong Kong, and North West HK TOK and onto NY

Hope you gat the chance to do yours.

If I can help any further please do not hesitate to email me.
