I also have 20 drink coupons now...10 from my temporary 1K kit in January and 10 from the new one.
I logged into the "new" website this morning and it shows that I have zero miles. I know, patience.... |
Me too, ms_go. Zero! Zip! Nada! But the site says to wait 24 hours.... fingers crossed... I've got a lot to lose!

Is anyone getting this message on the United website?
To access the site, your browser must support 128-bit encryption with a strong cipher. I flew from Maui to Miami last Tuesday, and the Continental website wasn't working for check-in at the airport. I was logged into the United website. I had been upgraded to First on the flight from Maui to SFO. Great. But when I got to the gate at the San Francisco airport, I wasn't on the upgrade list. Thirty-five people made the upgrade list but not me. When I spoke to the gate agent, she said, that's funny, and I was added as number 10 on a full first class flight. Then I got to Houston and again I wasn't on the upgrade list. I was added as number three on a flight with only one empty seat in First. All of these free drink coupons makes me wonder if they will be charging for drinks on flights to Asia in economy. Continental did. Does anyone know? |
I clicked on my shortcut to continental .com and looked at a fare. Then I clicked on my shortcut to united .com and found myself at the continental website. Or so it appeared. Was wondering what the heck was going on until I realized that I realized that the website change had been completed.
Kinda sad to see the united home page go away even though much of the website sucked. It was a familiar place that is now gone. So don't freak out if you go to united dot com and it doesn't look like what you expected. I know this thread is about Continental going away. But as a United flier, it feels more like United has gone away. |
I agree, it does feel as though UA is gone. I had grown very accustomed to that site (as bad as it could be at times).
Can anyone tell me how I'm going to know when an upgrade clears now? I've got a flight to FRA coming up in two weeks, and I'm waitlisted (using SWU). How does CO show a cleared upgrade on their old/now UA new site? |
I'm looking forward to getting my million mile kit hwne I get home! Didn't get upgraded on our SFO-LIH flight yesterday because they switched from the usual 777 to a 757 and there aren't as many first class seats. We were one and two on the first class list... Cheryl was going to check and see if her new status showed on the United website, but we'll wait a few days.
|
Carol, I have one future reservation with SWU (excuse me, GPU now...) upgrades that cleared when I booked. Go to the Manage Reservations page and then click "View" under the reservation in question. It will take you to a "View Current Reservation" page for that itinerary. Under "Flight Details" on the far right side, mine says: Fare Class: United Business (R). Haven't really looked into it much, but from Expertflyer it looks like "R" = the old "NC"?? Not sure what the itinerary would say if not cleared, but probably would have the economy fare class there (mine was a "W" and that is not listed anywhere on the page). I'm not sure if that is helpful...we'll all be learning it together.

Kathie, I don't think Cheryl will find any changes until early April... this from a phone conversation w/UA rep the other day. DH will get his 'updated' card at that time as well.
ms_go... yes, we'll be learning together. I've looked at details of my flight, and it appears to be waiting for upgrade to "Business/First" whatever that means. We're on UA metal, I'm sure, flying on a new 777. |
Now they have moved the date when the partner status will change to April? I guess everything is taking longer than they expected.
I' not yet impressed with the new website - it looks junky and jumbled. Maybe it just takes getting used to it. |
