R/T is a lot less than one way - Can I do it?

Just looked at flights on Malev from Amsterdam to Budapest. Only want one-way. Sooo much cheaper to book a round trip ticket ($75 US vs. $584 US for one way). But we would only use the outward going flight. Would that be a problem?

No problem, go ahead and do it.

The only time that there could be even a hint of a problem is if you bought two round-trips, using just the first half of each one, to avoid some sort of minimum-stay or Saturday-night-stay requirement.

This topic comes up a lot on this forum. Be sure to use the first half and not the second half of the ticket, don't make a habit of doing this, and you will be fine.

Yep, I agree. My husband and I had RT tickets on Swiss from AMS to ZRH and only used the first segment. No problem at all.
