Questions About Chicago O'Hare Terminal 5
Hello Everyone and Good Evening!
I am hoping you can help me I am planning to use Aer Lingus for a flight from ORD to DUB and I am concerned with my return to ORD on December 23, 2006 from DUB I arrive in ORD at 3:45pm and my flight on Delta leaves at 5:50pm. I want to know first do I have enough time? Also I know being a US citizen I will need to go through Customs but wanted to know how do I get to the Delta terminal because I see the trains on the map for ORD and the train is before US Customs so how do I get back. Oh yeah I do have checked Luggage and will have to check with Delta. I do plan to check in the night before for my Delta flight. Thank you, Paul |
You have enough time.
The train is pass customs. You will clear immigration in Dublin, so it's a quick pickup of your luggage, walk by the customs person, hand in the customs form, and unless they pull you for a customs search, you will walk out of the customs area. From there you take the escalator up, walk across a bridge and the train station is right there. I have never flown Delta, but I assume they are in terminal 2. If that's the case, it will be the second stop. About 10 minutes total. If you already have a boarding pass, then just walk up to the kiosk check-in area, show the agent your BP and s/he will tale your luggage. Then it's on to security and you're done. ORD arrivals in terminal 5 from DUB are extremely painless. Since all you have to do is customs it only takes as long as your luggage coming out on the carousel. Unless of course, one of the customs agents decides to have some fun with you. :-D Have a great trip! |
What AAFF said....except that Delta is Terminal 3, all the way down at the L concourse end.
|
in that case, it's the first stop :-D

Thank you Everyone for your help it is appreciated.
Has anyone flown Aer Lingus? Where to eat in Terminal 3. We really want a restaurant? Thank you Paul |
|
Thank you
I did check the website for ORD but was looking for comments from people who go through there I am planning to stay in Terminal Three until my fligh leaves so we use the AA lounge. AAFrequentFlyer could you tell me about the lounger in ORD from a personal feel. I have read the website about it. Thank you Paul |
The Admirals club is one of the nicer ones in the domestic system. It's big, bar area, internet, limited menu food for purchase, showers, I believe (but I'm not sure) it has a smoking room (I'm not a smoker), storage room for luggage (if you want to walk the terminal. It does get busy at times, especially towards the early evening when all the putgoing international flights are scheduled.
For a real sit down restaurant, Wolfgang Puck's would be my choice, unless you are looking for a more Chicago experience. In that case, O'Briens or Pizzeria Uno. I was just there last week and I was looking for the Gold Coast Dogs but could not find it and I was told by a CPD officer that it's gone. It's still listed on the airport site. Not sure if that's true, but I didn't have time to verify. That would be a nice quick meal. You won't have too much time, so a quick bite may be the only option you will have. |
Well the reason I asked was for my ORD to DUB I will have a 5 hour layover in ORD how I coming in from LEX.
Do they provide a computer for the internet or do I have to bring a laptop. Where is Wolfgang located at. How is O'Briens? Thank you, Paul |
They do have computers or there is wireless T-Mobile available(for a charge) for your laptop.
WP is (I believe) across from gate 1K in terminal 3, airside. Map: http://www.flychicago.com/Concession...nalsORD/D3.pdf O'Briens is ok, average at best. It is an airport bar and grill. |
