Question about power outlets as viewable in Seat Guru

I'm looking at some overseas flights and want to make sure I can plug in my personal dvd player.

When I'm looking at Seat Guru seating charts, the power outlets (specifically, in this case, for a 763) look to be under one's elbow.

My question is, is the outlet in the armrest of that seat? Or are the outlets on the floor under the rear of those seats? So, am I better off taking a seat behind one of those seats, or taking a seat showing the black dot at the elbow position?

Gosh, I hope that makes sense! Specifically on this flight, which seat is better to make sure I can plug in- row 30 or 31?

Thanks all!

Which airline & which flight? Each airline is different.

If it's AA then they are under your seat. In my experience the in seat power doesn't always work, so even if seatguru lists it as available don't bet on it 100%.

The outlet is accessed from the front, so if you pick the row behind an outlet you'll have to ask the person in the row in front to plug it in for you & run the cord under their seat - they get dibs on the outlet, not you, and they may not wish to be bothered.

It is AA. Thanks for the info.

Perhaps you already know but just in case I thought I mention this. AA uses cigarette lighter style power ports so you will need a 12V adapter that is compatible with your DVD player.

Seat in row 30 is the one you want.
