Question about AA's website.
I know occasionally AA has promotions where you can use less miles to travel to a destination. Where can I find this information on AA.com? If I have the mouse over AAdvantage, a box pops up, I've been clicking on AA bonus offers and I cannot find the information I'm looking for.
Feel free to call me a internet/computer dumie, because thats what I am. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. |
I am having the same trouble---I think it their web site...
I put in my membership number --came up with "no such number' I have ben a member for 52 years.. I finally went to local AA office but they seem uninformed about internet info... |

Perhaps you flabbergasted AA's computer system by entering a membership number that you received in 1957. The AAdvantage program began in 1981, I believe. |
CitiBank credit cards offers reduced milage travel at this site. Is this what you are thinking about?

I think you have it backwards, at least on the aa.com site. The occasional promotions they have there let you EARN extra miles, rather than REDEEM fewer miles for a trip. For example, there are ones going now that let you earn bonus miles for select travel between NY and Zurich, or between Chicago and Shanghai.
Keep going with the pop-up boxes: AAdvantage Miles, then AAdvantage Bonus Offers, then Airline Offers. |
Thanks for the feedback.
JaneB, I am not referring to any offer from Citibank. Jeff_Costa_Rica, that offers you describe are the ones I'm able to pull up. I remember a few years ago, AA had a promotion where you could use 40,000 miles, instead of 70,000 to travel on Air Tahiti Nui to Papaetee. I know AA may not have reduced mileage promotion at all times, but I have alot of mileage and I'm going to keep an eye on upcoming promotions, thats if I can figure out how to do this. |
AA does have reduced mile awards, mostly in the summer to the Caribbean, Mexico, etc. They send out these promos in their e-newsletters which you have to sign up for.
|
Oh, that's were I get the information, thanks budg. I had requested for e-newsletters to not be sent to me. I'll sign up for these. Now, I feel better, I'm not stupid after all.

I do remember that Tahiti promotion. You're right. I remember cursing my schedule that I couldn't take advantage of it. :)
|
Jeff_Costa_Rica I too couldn't take advantage of the Tahiti promotion. If I remember correctly, AAFrequentFlyer did.
