Qantas Introducing Premium Economy Seating

It will be introduced in the their new A380 and will also be progressively introduced on select B747-400 aircraft from February 2008.

Right now the Sydney Morning Herald say they are only talking about Asia, South Africa and Europe.

The Snack Bar also looks interesting.

Seems like they're not very sure about the economics of it. On the 380 that sits ~450, they have only 32 PE seats. That's like just 4 rows, at the very back of the upper floor.

It's a similar number to BA - they have between 30 and 36 on their Boeing 747-400s.

My wife and I feel that PE is a great way to go. We did PE on Thai to BKK, and are going to South Africa on Virgin with PE. ((*))

I think A380 is restricted to long haul flights, I'm not sure though. So, if you're flying to Asia, it's definitely going to be a wonderful exp.

Just read that the cost will be AUD 5,000 return Sydney - London - that's double the economy. Too expensive.
