Qantas Club/Priority Pass

I am travelling to Australia and have about an 7 hr layover in Melbourne (LAX to Melbourne to Hobart). I do not travel international except for once before. My question is can I somehow get a day pass to one of the lounges.

I am flying economy on Qantas

You have to be a Qantas Club member and there are no day passes that I know of. I you are a club member of American Airlines then you can use the Qantas Club because they are both members of One World.

Here is a link to the Qantas site describing in detail the requirements for entry to the Qantas Club

http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airl...cess/global/en

Maybe this will help - otherwise you might try and book a day room at an airport hotel?

I think ivenobeeneverywhere may be incorrect about Admirals Club membership getting you into the Qantas Club. Several years ago I was refused entrance to Qantas with my lifetime Admirals Club membership. I was allowed in only when I showed my AAdvantage Platinum card. That may have changed as I have not flown economy on Qantas since that time.

As you will have gone through customs you could try the Hilton Hotel, just a short walk from the airport via an overpass. Or, even if you are not staying there, the lobby area, with bar etc is very nice.... just as good as the Qantas lounge (I have used the one at Melbourne). Only difference you'll have to pay for all your drinks and food!! Have fun.
