Purchasing tickets to LV now?

My husband and I are going to Las Vegas early June. The fare is quite high. $400 each rd trip N/S. Anyone think it will be lower or should I purchase now? Leaving from East Coast.

I love these posts.... east coast? what does that mean? New York or Mylittletown, Middleofnowhere?

Expect ~$300+, regardless where you are leaving from except for occasional sales from the major airports......

You can always look into package deals to LV. You may be able to squeeze a flight and a hotel for just a few $ more.

Reporting from Lima, Peru. In for the evening. 1 last day tomorrow and flying home on Friday. Should be home on Saturday morning.

East Coast is generally the main hubs of the U.S and prices will not change drastically whether it be EWR, JFK, or PHL or MIA. Mine is PHL. Yes the package deals seem to be priced accordingly but it is still $400. pp.

Ok, I'm game. Please explain to me how "East Coast = Major hubs" in a question on a travel forum?

Besides, PHL is really not a major hub...

All 3 New York airports and possibly Boston, and then you pretty much have to go down to Miami, or if you are willing to go little inland, Atlanta. After that, it's what it is......

Sorry, didn't finish my thought...

Ok, I'm game. Please explain to me how "East Coast = Major hubs" in a question on a travel forum?

According to you, people from NE states, Virgina, N and S Carolina, Georgia, Northern Florida, don't count?

AA has fares around $200 in June on many days for PHL-LAS. Check it out.

Southwest. "Internet One-way" fares. $158 each way. With tax, $336.60 PHL-LAS, including some non-stops. Available for many days in June.

I do apologize for the tone of my posts....

I'm having a difficult evening,

but the fact remains the same. When asking about specific airfares, please, at the very least, do share all the necessary info, such as dates, or range of dates, departure and arrival airports.

East coast to Vegas could be New York-Las Vegas or it could be Hilton Head Island to Las Vegas, and that could mean a BIG difference in fares.

diann...A friend got a choice of air on Southwest for $341.00 per person or a package thru Southwest Airlines Vacations for $452.10 per person, airfare and Riviera Hotel, including all taxes.Transfers and insurance were extra I think maybe $40 per person.

ok Beachboi, I'm confused. rkkwan posted fares of $250 all in, on AA and somehow you think that SW at $341 was worth mentioning when it seems that the OP was/is very concerned with cost?

Perhaps the only reason may be that AA is a 1 stop flight wheras SW may/may not be non-stop.

It's actually $200 all in on AA when I checked. ~$16x + tax. Quite a steal.

Thanks I did look at those today. They are 7-9 hours. I think for the difference in price I prefer non-stop. That is what I was referring to in the first place. I am probably going during a large convention. I think that is why prices are high even on hotels. Thanks.

Well, like beachboi and I said, if you want non-stop, Southwest may have seats for you for ~$340.

I think my original question was do you think they will come down or should I purchase now? Yes SW is very reasonable. I am going to JAX from PHL RD trip for $138.00 in May!! A true steal! I can't get over that one.

I think you can wait a little. I doubt it'll go even further than $400, so you can wait a little. And check prices daily.

Are you SURE??? I am doing a package hote/air, so I was hoping for somewhat less. It is 7 june-13th June. I think there is convention there at that time of course when isn't there?

Are you asking me if I'm SURE prices will come down? Of course I am NOT SURE. Nobody knows. All I'm saying is that $400 for a domestic r/t is pretty expensive already, and it's unlikely to go further up. On the other hand, if the flights don't sell well, then USAirways may lower it somewhat.

But the ~$340 fare on Southwest is likely to be the lowest. I don't see them lower it to under $150 each way.

Anyways, we've given lots of choices already. If you want cheap and book it now, go with AA's one-stop. You said it yourself that you don't think the difference is big enough to go with the one-stop, so that tells me you can probably afford the $400 non-stop. So, if you want, just book it. Or do Southwest.

We've given you all the options and opinions. You need to decide on your own. No one here can tell you what's going with prices in next hour.
