Purchasing tickets

I am certainly not a frequent flyer by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a question that I can't seem to find the right search parameters for, so I thought I'd post here for you experts. I have plans for a trip next May-June in France. When we took our kids and our niece and nephew on trips, I was able to purchase all four tickets on one reservation, as obviously it wouldn't run up against my daily transaction limit for my Visa Check Card. Last year, with just two of us going, I was able to purchase two business class tickets on one reservation, but there was a slight hitch, that a phone call took care of simply enough. With all that said - here's my problem/quandry/question:

A massive business class sale appeared on my phone via a price alert. Based upon the price, I called my bank to see if I could have the daily limit increased to more than the 4K transaction limit. They said sure, up to 6K. I informed them this was a check card transaction and wanted to simply pay for Four tickets out of my account on-line for more than the 6k. As it was occurring this evening, I was assured that it would likely occur tomorrow, if I called my local branch when it opened. Problem was, the tickets were so cheap I knew the price wouldn't be there in the am. So, I logged in to my phone app, and made the purchase of two tickets on my Visa, then immediately reloaded the request to purchase two more with DW's card (using the same account). When the request loaded (within one minute) the price went up nearly 2K per ticket.

Is this a normal occurrence? I was shocked myself, but maybe there were only a few (two) tickets left at this price? I'm hopeful that since the flights are 8 1/2 months out, the price will hopefully drop again to something far below the current 3700 price. BTW, I purchased so early because these prices are over $200.00 per ticket cheaper than the ones I purchased for this past March-April for a May-June 2016 trip.

Maybe I should just consider myself lucky that I got two Business class seats at this price, as I budgeted for somewhat higher.

Crap this is frustrating.

Uhmmm. Nevermind? I just got notice that the price went back down, and purchased the other two tickets.

Rather odd that the price went up at 7:00, and back down at 9:30. And it was a big drop - $1,800.00 per ticket drop. All four tickets purchased, apartment leased, now the wait.

Yes, this is a common occurrence. The price went up because a lot of people were trying to book and the "demand" suddenly went up.
