Please advise-I'm feeling horrible

I am supposed to be off to Ireland in 3 days.I have just come down with the most horrible cold.I feel like hell and was even playing with the idea of not going.I will lose all my money, about $2000.I still want to go but have never been on a plane with a head cold is there anything I can do to ease my suffering?I have a headache, runny nose, swollen lymph glands(painful) and my ears are popping.I am going to the doctor today but feel sure that they will send me on my way with nothing as this is most likely a virus.I am taking tylenol and a decongestant but dont feel that it is helping any.I'm not sneezing or coughing so dont think that I will be contagious in 3 days time, as ive been told that these bugs are most catchy in the begining stages usually before symptoms appear.Help!

The thing that always works for me is to drink HUGE amounts of fluid, lots of juice, but even water too - it really seems to flush it out. ALso try taking Echinacea tablets. <BR>hope you're well soon!

Ask your doc if she will give you a B-12 shot. <BR> <BR>Take a decongestant an hour before you board preferably one that will m ake you sleepy. <BR> <BR>Wash your hands more. No laugh, it helps keep germs away.

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT TRAVEL INSURANCE!!!

Travel ins will not pay for a cold.

Sorry to inform you that Travel insurance would have covered her if her doctor said she wasn't able to travel. You people really should look to start making plans with a Travel Professional. Then you would be informed and knowing what your talking about.

I concur with Penny. I had a middle air infection and was persuaded not to fly by my doctor. You have to pass the insurance claim form onto your doctor's surgery ( which will charge you ) but you will get a refund. That is why you should READ the small print of your travel insurance to find out exactly what you are covered for.

get a script for an antibiotic just in case. Take your dcongest/antihistimine. And use some afrin or other nasal drops/spray.<BR>Remember Guiness is good for you and Jamieson is better. There is lots of Tea and sympathy for you in the emerald isle

If "anonymous" is still sick, he/she is in a very bad way. What possessed you all to answer months later?
