Picture I.D. at airport

I have lost my driver's license (can't imagine how, but I did) and heading to DMV for a new one. However, I'm not sure if I will have my replacement by the time I go to Florida in March. Can I check my bags using my work I.D.? Yes, I will call the airline, but I was surfing here anyhow and thought I might get a quick answer. Thanks.

When you go to the DMV they should be able to take your picture and issue you a new license right away. After a $25 charge of course.

xyz work for gov't?

elaine Feb 16th, 2002 08:50 AM

x,
Why would you say xyz work for the govt?
Both driver's license and passport are government issued, it is just one is state and one is local.
A passport is your best form of ID, whether traveling Abroad or in the US.

xyz,

You must present a picture government issued id, this could be your DL, a student id, passport ( is the ultimate form of id these days, and well worth the investment if you travel a great deal domestic or international).

Check out the FAA website or any of the major airlines website for a full list of acceptable forms of id.
