Peru airlines: LAN vs STAR vs CONDOR

We will need three flights within Peru in March: Lima to Cusco; Cusco to Arequipa; and Arequipa to Lima.

If I pick and chose the flights based on price and schedule, I find us on all three of these airlines: Lan, Star and Condor. Lan is the only one that has a direct flight (with 1-stop) CUZ-AQP so we will probably use them for this flight, but Star and Condor are somewhat less expensive than Lan on the other two routes.

Is Lan worth the extra money in terms of service, safety or convenience?

We flew with Star for Lima-Cusco-Lima with no problems. The staff was friendly and the plane was clean. It's a fairly easy trip. I wouldn't worry about flying with them at all. Go with price. Our plane left a little late but that's true everywhere these days.

LAN is easily the most respected airline in South America. Unless I were saving a lot of money, I would choose them for all routes.

I've flown all three, and they're all fine. I'm partial to LAN, partly because I get AAdvantage miles on some of their fare classes, but more because I think they are just a class act. Not that Star Peru and AeroCondor aren't, but LAN just has this extra polish to it that gives me a lot of confidence.
