passport question

I believe this has been asked before, but I didn't pay attention like I should. Our passports have our first, middle, and last names. Is it OK if the airline tickets have only first and last names, as long as they match exactly the first and last names on the passports? Thanks!

The airlines have a requirement that they provide, I believe the TSA, a specific "set" of information on each traveler. The airline should be asking you to provide the information required. If you booked on line you may have already filled it out. If on the phone, you may still need to access the website and fill it out. The full name, which should match your passport is one of the required items of information. IMO that is what they are going to be looking for to match more so than the name the ticket is booked under. To be sure, I would contact your airline and inquire

Happens to me a lot no problem as long as first/last names match and passports are valid. Do check with your carrier though.

Carnival is booking our air for our upcoming cruise to Alaska. Carnival does not provide a space for middle name when booking, so my concern was that since they only have first and last name to give to the airline, that's how our air reservations will be printed. We don't yet know the carrier. Don't get the air details until 45 days or so prior to our May 1 sailing. But sounds like we are fine. Sure appreciate the responses. Thanks!

Agree- you will be fine.

I have exactly the circumstance you mention (my passport has my full middle name, which I never use on plane tickets). It has never once been questioned in 30+ years of traveling.

I recommend that once you know your flights that you contact the airline in order to confirm they have the required information that must be there when you check in for the flight. It is NOT just your name. You may find that Carnival provided it to the airline from information you provided them, but best to make sure. I have not cruised on Carnival, but if it is like Princess there are forms to fill out on the website. Passport information is one of those

Oops sorry missed the part about this being booked thru a cruiseship. I don't know anything about that.
