Overnight stopover in AMS - will my luggage be booked through to BSL?

I'm looking at a flight to Basel and I can stopover in AMS (arrive 8/25 at 8 am) and depart for Basel 8/26 at noon. If this is booked as one ticket, will my luggage be checked all the way through to Basel? Where will it spend the night?

My flight:
US/AMS, AMS/BSL, FCO/US

This is coming up as the same price as not stopping over in AMS. I'm traveling with a relative that hasn't been to AMS so I thought we may as well stop for 24 hours since there is no price difference.

Would you be happy leaving your luggage in some warehouse somewhere for 24 hours?

My guess is that, because the layover is more than 24 hours, that it won't be checked through. I would definitely think that you can have them tag the bags only to AMS, if that is what you are looking for. And there appear to be baggage lockers in the arrival plaza, if you want that.

We would be getting a hotel since so storage wouldn't be an issue. I was concerned a bit about where they would be for 24 hours if checked through.

No your baggage could not be checked through. And you could not check in for your flight to BSL at your US check-in.
