one way from Europe to North America
I have to arrange a flight from EU to North America (West Coast) in December 2010 and so far am not finding any good fares from Italy, The trek ends in Bellagio Italy, near Milan & Bologna, but those fare to SEA/YVR/SFO seem excessive.
I am thinking about a Ryan Air (or other cheap airline) to some other location and grabbing a less expensive Iceland Air flight. It seems the London, Amsterdam, etc airports are different for Iceland Air than for Ryan Air. Any ideas for the least crazy way to make this happen? |

Try a different airline. Despite what Ryanair want you to believe there are other airlines in Europe www.whichbudget.com But you must remember it will be YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND YOURS ALONE to make your onward flight and you'll get diddly squat from any airline if you miss your onward flight except to be shown where the ticket counter is to buy a new ticket so you might find that an overnight stay at your intermediate spot is a good idea - at which point the "fact" that Ryanair use different airports becomes insignificant BTW there's only one Amsterdam Airport - and Ryanair don't use it |
Try going through Dublin, Ireland. But give yourself plenty of time in Dublin. Flights from Dublin to the United States are usually 1/2 the round-trip price. Also, a German airline flies into Fort Lauderdale direct from Germany and I believe you can book a one-way ticket with them. The German airline doesn't fly the route every day.
