Olympic Air: Standby policy for an earlier flight
 

Hello,

In May we will be on a cruise that is scheduled to arrive back in Pireaus, Greece at 6:00 a.m. We have booked a flight from Athens airport to London that leaves at 1:30 p.m. but there is flight that leaves at 9:15 a.m. I wasn't comfortable booking the earlier flight in case our cruise is delayed. If we get to the airport earlier, will Olympic Air allow us on the earlier flight if seats are available? If so, is there a charge for this? I checked their website and it wasn't very helpful.

Having disembraked at that port, I don't think the 9:15 is really an issue. IT's a haul to the airport and it's not exactly an efficent port :)

You have validated my thoughts on booking the later flight. I would rather be early for the later flight than possibly miss the earlier one and then try to get on the later ones.

I do remember some absolutely paniced folks over the boarding delays. So I think the decision you made is the right one. I love Greece, but it's not always all that organized :)
