Oasis Hong Kong may be next
A Hong Kong financial newspaper's website Wednesday morning is reporting that Oasis Hong Kong Airlines maybe closing its door as early as that same day.
I won't be surprised. They received their 5th 744 about 2 weeks ago, but despite rumors they have not announced any new route and new flight. Something's up. |
A few other sources indicate that's in fact true.
For those who don't know, O8 operated on two routes, HKG-LGW and HKG-YVR, offering discount coach and business with decent service. But with their gas-guzzling 2nd hand 744s and stiff competition on all these routes, it's no surprise they won't last. |
Sad to hear this. Their presence in the mkt made others (e.g., Cathay) bring their prices down significantly.
Enjoy-la! |
Oasis stopped flying this morning. CX and BA are going to work to try and get stranded pax out of HKG.
Shame, actually. Best, Dave |
Now, sadly, officially confirmed.
They were good. The kind of biz class you want if it's your own money, and considerably cheaper than BA, Virgin, Cathay, Qantas or Air NZ. I'll just have to get the clients to pay in future. |
Wow, 4th airline in 10 days. And American Airlines seeking to incur the wrath of every passenger they had for today.
Bad news for airlines, all around. |
Same as they were an OK operation.
|
Shame, i don't think we can expect resuscitation as Oasis is going into liquidation not into administration. Reuters say CX not interested in taking over.
|
Hainan Airlines' parents were interested, but they decided not to invest in the end.
