Not much food?...AF La to Paris.
 

Our AF flight from LA to Paris is a 10 hour flight. Leaving at 3:30 PM The printout shows only a breakfast meal..is this accurate do you think?

I believe you get Dinner too.. (However, it's airline food.... edible is optional. I tend to pack food :) )

I don't know why they list it that way. I've flown AF a couple of times from the east coast and it said the same thing. As rkkwan said, their food (well, dinner anyway) is at least a small step above some of the competition.

It is not correct that they only give you breakfast. I fly AF all the time and get dinner going to Europe. I don't remember what my itinerary said.

Good...I would hate to be hungry on such a long flight.

I just bought an AF ticket yesterday, and it said the same thing, I never noticed it before (it only said breakfast). I wonder why they do that. They give you free wine, also, unlike most airlines. And it's French (even if table wine, it's better than American cheap wine IMO).

I just flew AF last month and you do get 2 meals each way. Typical airplane food, not the best but who cares when you are getting free French wine!! :-)

PS I read your other thread about the cancellation, good luck and please do keep us posted on that situation.

I have never paid for alcohol on an international flight... always free wine and after-dinner drinks.

Well, never say never. Lots of American carriers are giving few or no free drinks anymore.

"I have never paid for alcohol on an international flight" - are you flying American carriers? Or maybe you're in business class? AA, for example, quit free alcohol some time back in economy - and have put the prices up at least once. Plus they only take credit cards now.

I think Delta's current plan is "one free drink" with the meal. Could be wrong and you might get a free pre-dinner drink too. (Luckily since I fly on FF miles I try to get to sit up front where the booze is still free. I do have a coach trip home from CDG late next month and have saved my "thanks for flying free drink coupons" for that flight :) )

I can tell you the exact date this happened, it was November 1, 2002.

I know this because I flew to Europe w/AA on that very date and the FA told me it was the first day of the new policy. It was a complete surprise and needless to say, nobody was happy. Even after the emergency landing in NY they still didn't give us free drinks--but that's another story. :-L

I'm not sure what the point of joan's comment was in this discussion. I gather to argue that AF giving free wine with dinner was meaningless. Without even stating what airlines she always flew, it really didn't have much point to it. There are airlines that charge for alcohol, if the post was tryihng to claim that none do.
