New Orleans to Beijing

We are planing a 12 day trip to China and Hong Kong . We need input on Best flight s. United seems to have the best times and price. Are there any other option s. like flying from Canada ?
We are considering using Odyssey Tours for our private tour for two couples, starting in Beijing and finishing in Hong Kong and Macau

We've flown United on our two trips to China, out of SFO. Also check Cathay Pacific, China Southern.

Unless you have status with United, I would look to a different airline. In coach, $6.99 for a beer, $7.99 for a glass of wine. Fasten seatbelt sign is always on. United has a very annoying announcement that says, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the captain has turned on the fasten seatbelt sign. Please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelt." This comes on every time the pilots need to use the toilet. The announcement is loud and I can't imagine anyone being able to sleep through it. No hot towels and plastic tableware. But, if you want United miles, go for it. At least they don't have 10 across on their 777's. Avoid United 787 if you have broad shoulders. Very tight in economy.

Air Canada gets a 4* rating from sky trax vs. 3 for UAL and is part of * alliance if you have miles with UAL. If not it may be a good time to join as its a lot of miles.

I am surprised you say UAL has the best price. When I search for flights UAL is usually more. What are your dates?

I just plugged in some days for May and Delta came in at $1107.00. That's the cheapest and its on their website too.

Air Canada's service is no better than UA and some of their 777 are 3-4-3 seating which is narrower than any seat on UA.

I definitely won't consider AC unless their.pricing is better.

I beg to differ. AC has a higher rating for a reason. Just look at this site and you can get a lot of info on all air lines.

I have flown AC and UA across the Pacific quite a few times in the last few years. You don't have to agree with me, but I stand by my opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am to mine as well. We flew AC to Japan last Sept. in fact and it was a biz seat but I thought their food and on board service was excellent. I was not so impressed with the pod seats however. I suppose we will disagree.

Cheers, Larry. :).

I am talking about coach.

I know.

I fully respect your opinion and your choice of airlines. For me I counted the 1st twenty reviews on Econ and PE for both. For UAL it was 14 against and 6 for and AC had 11 against and 9 for.
