Need help with flight bookings.

My kids and I are going to Puerto Vallarta in Novemeber. The round trip airfares seem high at $564.00? Is this true and are they going up? Should I wait or book now. I am completely new to this. Don't travel much and then close to home.

Often there are sales right after Memorial Day, but nothings certain. Airfares are always pretty much a gamble - no one can say for sure if they're going up or down or when. If the flights are selling at predicted rates, there's usually a discount around 8-4 weeks in advance, but if they're selling well the rates will go up.

Sorry, there's not much helpful to tell you.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether $564 is a good price, because I don't where you're flying from (makes a huge difference). If you're flying from the East Coast, that's actually a decent fare for November.

Sorry. I am flying out of Seattle.

It may be too early to get the best possible fare on that flight and it's also possible you could come across a coupon or some means to defray the price between now and then. I wouldn't rush to buy at that price just yet, but I agree with the previous poster that it is always a gamble. Puerto Vallarta has a lot of package travel and it is sometimes possible to bag an air-only deal on a charter. I would suggest researching operators out of Seattle for this possibility or hooking up with a local travel agent for some advice. Bookings for that type of destination are traditional a little soft between November and mid-December, so that may bode well for your ability to snag a better fare. :o)

Try a Funjet or Apple Vacations package deal. You can usually get pretty good bargains that way. However, you usually have to wait til it gets closer to the time you want to leave.

Jerri,
Try Hotwire.com, they are ticket consolidators and if you don't have to be there at any special time, their prices can't be beat, and also you can tell by their quote what the going best low fare is. Try several times as it changes daily. After you input your info you have 30 minutes to decide if you want it or not and then you can't try again for 72 hrs. but you can change something a little bit and try again. Good luck and hope your find something more resonable. Buck
