Need Advice Regarding Schedule Change
Please see my previous topic about Delta changing my flights. I need advice. Thank you.

portia - fyi you do not need to start a new thread, and in fact doing so risks missing a potentially helpful response. Just add a new comment to your previous post to bring it up in the queue.

Thank you, Seamus for the information. Do you have any advice?

>>Do you have any advice?<<
There is info/advice on your original thread . . . |
I know I could make the flight if I do not have to pick up my luggage and recheck it. Does anyone know for sure I have flown several times through AMS (on separate tickets) and I always had to pick up and recheck luggage. These flights are all booked on the same ticket. Will the luggage be sent directly from PDX to BUD? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

When is the flight? Why don't you wait and see if they change it three more times before departure date?
You'll have to wait for your bags in Amsterdam and then hand them back over to Delta for your onward flight. Right there at the arrival checkpoint...you won't have to haul them to the next flight with you. |
Why does she have to pick up her bags in AMS clark? They'll be checked all the way through to BUD.

As J62 wrote, when you are traveling on "one ticket", your luggage will be checked to BUD in PHX.
In AMS, do NOT go to baggage claim but follow the (easy to understand) signage for your connecting gate to BUD. This will lead you through passport control - and security. Unless some unforeseeable major delays hit your flight from the US, having 1.5hrs to transfer in Schiphol would be absolutely within my comfort zone. In BUD, you will pick up your luggage and exit without another passport control. P.S. Don't let the taxi touts get you in Budapest - which will try to hit you after you exited baggage claim. Follow the sign for taxis which will lead you outside to the curb on the arrivals level. Where you will easily spot the clearly marked kiosk of the official taxi dispatcher. |
J62 and Cowboy,
Thank you so much for your reassuring information. I feel much more confident about making the flight. I forgot to mention I walk with a cane and not too fast. |
