NBO to TLV

I have enough AA FF to get from STL to NBO for another safari. However, I would like to stop in Israel on the return. I am looking for a way to do this as AA does not list TLV as a destination. I see Jordan as a possibility, but I am leery of any issues of travel between Jordan and Israel. Travel is not until Fall or later. Thanks for any advice.

It's very easy. Royal Jordanian flies from Nairobi to Amman; you wait for a couple of hours in the international transit area of AMM, then fly on Royal Jordanian to TLV. RJ flies AMM-TLV once a day, sometimes twice (and El Al vice versa.)

You should look at AA's "Oneworld" awards, which are based on mileage and not regional "zones." You have to use two Oneworld member airlines besides AA (so 3 if AA is involved) but that would be simple for NBO - fly AA STL-(ORD/DFW/JFK/MIA)-LHR, then on British Airways to NBO, then NBO-AMM-TLV on RJ. Then come home using BA back to London, or Iberia to Madrid (both from TLV) and back to the US on AA, BA or Iberia. Look at http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/re...servations.jsp (scroll down) for an explanation of these awards; here's the table showing the mileage award levels: http://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/oneworld_awards.jsp

Usually using Oneworld awards for trips like this works out cheaper in mileage requirement than the zone-to-zone "all partners" awards. In the above case, in business class, a trip like STL-ORD-LHR-NBO-AMM-TLV-LHR-ORD-STL would cost 187,500 miles using "all partners" but only 130,000 miles as a Oneworld award. (In coach, the Oneworld award would cost 100K miles; as an all-partners award it would be 112,500 - so business is a pretty good deal by comparison.)

I just booked my wife on a very similar trip starting next month - SEA-JFK-LHR-EBB//NBO-AMM-AMS-LHR-SEA, all in business class, for 130,000 miles. Major good deal IMO.
