More changes for U.S. airlines

The U.S. airlines recently announced major changes and here is a brief update:

American Airlines will be adding entertainment on their MD80’s. These planes built back in the 1980’s don’t have television monitors or audio, but thanks to a partnership with Fox News, all domestic flights on MD80’s will now include a Glen Beck rant and a Sarah Palin cheer. Still to be worked out is how many times Fox News will be allowed to interrupt the American Airlines flight staff.

If you check the Delta Airlines website, you will see a many one cent fares. So how do they do it? These prices do not include the mandatory seat-belt usage fee of $500.

If you check the Northwest Airlines website, one will see some excellent prices. However, buyer beware before you type in your credit card number. This website is located in Iran and is not affiliated with www.Delta.com.

United Airlines is getting very serious about turning off electronic devices during take-off and landing. They have even hired a doctor on board to turn off pacemakers.

Continental Airlines officials are still debating charging for drinks or charging for using the toilets on board. Currently, management is leaning towards only serving prune juice on flights.

U.S. Airways will begin charging passengers $25 to use the overhead bins and $10 to place articles under the seat. Flight attendants recommend that passengers keep their credit cards out during the entire flight.

And if any of this information has you a little confused or surprised, you may want to check the date of this posting.

There was a rumor floating about that a passenger would be able to stow their spouse and kids into the overhead bins. These family members would count as carryons and no additional fare would be incurred.

Hey wally, did you know they are going to ban liquor on all flights within the US or any international flights to/from the US? They are also going to require wearing seatbelts throughout the flight. So don't eat or drink too much before flying as you will no longer be allowed to use the restrooms.

What is sad is that sounds believable, PM.
