I have to laugh......One of my buds walked into a Travel Agency last year...wanted the "Cruise Expert"....the girl that greeted him assured him she was in fact the resident CE....Long story, but in the end the girl had never even seen a cruise ship.....Sorry, but ya gotta do a little research somewhere before just walking into to a Travel Agency not realizing that you may be their only "catch"......

Hamburg has one airport, and it isn't Lubeck - so... have you tried to search for Lubeck, where it is? Or asked the hotel's clerk?
I still can't see where the advertising is misleading. To me it looks they've tried to warn you about a different airport location, maybe a suburb or a different town. I think it's a common practice to name an airport by the name of a large city close to the airport's location. |
Ryan Air has been receiving a lot of criticism on the issue (especially for the Frankfurt-Hahn indication, which I tend to agree is indeed misleading) - but they do indicate that it is not Hamburg proper they are flying into, but Luebeck. Thus, I agree with others that it is not exactly misleading.
I would also like to point out that Luebeck is by no means 80 kilometers from Hamburg - rather around 65 kilometers. When you consider that other airports (such as Munich) are also quite a huge distance from the city center, this is not such a big deal, I should think. |
I checked for Ryanair information about Hamburg-Lubeck route. I couldn't find information explaining that the Lubeck Airport is 60 kilometers from Hamburg. Ryanair could simply post a map showing the two airports and explain access options.

Just why would Ryanair do something to discourage potential sales?
