Watching rented movies on iPad
Please help. I'm a new iPad owner. When I've rented a movie, I can't work out how to play it back without a wifi connection. I get a message which says you cannot connect to the iTunes store without an Internet connection. This happens whether I've rented or purchased a film. We're going on a flight soon and would ideally like to watch one on the plane. Can someone please provide some step by step instructions. Thanks.

Go to the Apple website - you'll find contact information there. For the UK it's: www.apple.com/uk/
FYI - at www.apple.com you can go to the bottom of the page, theres a link where you can choose any country in the world to find contact info.

I've only done it by renting and downloading the movie in itunes on my desktop computer, then syncing to the ipad. I think it asks if you want to transfer the rented movie to the ipad. It takes up to an hour to download the movie from the itunes store first and then a couple minutes to copy it to the ipad. If you rented it directly on the ipad, I don't know how to do it. If you have an Apple Store nearby, I'd try making a Genius Bar appointment. I'm sure they can show you in five minutes. If not, try on-line support. Sometimes you can do a live chat and get things answered that way.

Just wanted to be sure you are aware that unless you watch your movies on wifi you will
use a lot of data and it could get expensive. I was not aware and watched a couple on Netflix
on my iPad not set for wifi and used up a lot of my data. I now always check Settings to be sure it is on wifi.

It's something about having to initially start watching it on Wifi and then watching the rest offline. Which sucks if you have a rental because you only have 24 hours!
Try the Apple support forums...they are VERY helpful!
