Martinair Holland - anyone flown recently?

Just curious if anyone has flown this airline recently. We have already purchased the tickets. I would just like to know in advance what to expect. Tripadvisor reviews were not that great. Wondering if anyone else has recent info. Thanks in advance for you help.

I flew them last year to/from Miami.
it was o.k., nothing special, but also not bad. Probably value for money, if you got tickets for a good rate.

Ida101,

Thank you for responding, I was beginning to give up hope! I am also flying from Miami in June and this was the most reasonable fare at the time. Glad to hear nothing too bad. Thanks again.

It certainly is not bad and it is a dutch company (partle owned by KLM) maintainance etc. is o.k.
For a small surcharge you can book a larger seat.

Ida101,
Thanks again. Do you think the additional surcharge is worth it? I understood it to be only an additional 3 inches in leg room. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. Also, since you apparently flew to Amsterdam, how was the airport? We have a layover of 3 hours I think. Thanks again for your help. I like to have other people's perspective to help me get an idea as to what to expect.

You do not get a whole lot of room on MartinAir - so be ready to be squished.

As for Schiphol in Amsterdam - if you have to have a 3 hour layover that is the airport to have it in! You can gamble, eat, watch numerous TV's in the bar area - great airport.

We were delayed 8 hours with our 3 kids (5, 7, & 9) and the time went quickly. They have a McDonalds and playground area. So the kids were occupied and we stayed sane!

Yes I think it does. Every inch on this 8 hr, flight makes it more comfortable. I donot recall how much the surcharge was, but not much. Check it, maybe on their website?

Oh and you will love that airport. It is one terminal, but sometimes involves a lot of walking.
There are many taxfreeshops, a small museum and even a casino.
Make sure where your next gate is, (Schengen or nor Schengen), as again sometimes you have a long walk.

Thanks again for the info. I think we will upgrade to comfort class. It is a small amount additionally, I believe like 70 USD one way. I appreciate the reply.
