Standard configuration should be 3-4-3 in lower deck, and 2-4-2 if the airline decide to put economy on the upper deck.

Yes, some airlines are inquiring about 3-5-3 seating, but I don't think that's the standard config.

This is beginning to sound like the Hindenburg.

Here's a good video from Popular Mechanics during the recent visit of the A380 to JFK, and a media flight:

http://www.popularmechanics.com/blog...s/4213543.html

This plane, F-WWJB, has production number 007, and is not scheduled for any customer. The JFK flight was operated by Lufthansa.

They have it 2-2-2 in a staggered first class (12 seats), a bar, and then 3-4-3 economy in the lower level (307 seats).

Upper level is 2-2-2 business class (64 seats) and economy (136). I haven't seen configuration there, but should be 2-4-2.

Total seats is 519. However, some airlines, like SQ, will have fewer seats and a larger number of F and C.

Thanks for the link. I don't know that I care to fly in that huge plane anytime soon, but I appreciated seeing the video anyway.
