Patty: Oh well crap, I just told my husband about the latest added charge and he summed it up. "Gettin' desperate, aren't they?"

Anyway, is this curbside charge at all airports?

Thanks for your information.

Just want to make sure I am clear on something. So if DL change my schedule am I entitled to a full refund? I would assume I would have to talk to a real person to do this not just do it online? We have flights booked quite a few months out that are paid for (ie not FF) & I will be watching the schedule carefully but just want to be sure I know where I stand! Thanks all.

ccolor,
I would imagine all airports. According to this http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=805889 those who do online baggage check are also exempt.

jules39,
I believe technically it has to be a 90 minute or greater change. If it's close, I'd give it a try anyway.

Just as a heads up it took us 48 hours to get back to Boston from Costa Rica this week but when we went to Miami to check in after we missed our connection - there are big signs stating that American Airlines now charges $2. per bag PLUS TIP for curbside check in. My husband after much adieu payed the $2. but would not give the guy a tip needless to say his bag was not there when we arrived in Boston. Also they did not care at the counter that the guy did it on purpose. The bag arrived by courier delivered to NH 2 days later. These are the kind of crooks American has working for them! These American flights were the worse with no service and rude flight attendants and whenever anyone complained all they would say is it is not my fauly write to American! Ruined our trip in both directions!!! Ridiculous

Thanks, Patty. Unfortunately the luggage handlers at curbsides will be the ones to suffer because of the new
charges, but then again, the airlines aren't that worried about the "little people" now are they?

So, in the latest twist to Delta's never ending quest for the DUH award -- got a call yesterday that our itinerary had changed again. So, that isn't new. But I did make the change to depart from ABQ instead of DRO and had to bite the bullet and pay $75 fee to redeposit the ticket, so I figured the trip should be pretty much set now.

The change - arrive in Atlanta at 8:18 pm and our next flight to ABQ departs at [drumroll] 8:30 pm! A 12 minute connection time???

So, for the umpteenth time, I call Delta. Well for once, it works out ok. We get better flights, still in First Class and arrive early evening rather than almost midnight.

We still have 6 weeks till trip, figure there will be at least one more revision..

DebitNM,
I hope I read this post wrong. You don't really have only 12 minutes, do you? That's practically impossible in ATL!

Hi Dana,
They had in fact scheduled us for a 12 minute connection time! However, they did make a change {Earlier departure and normal connection time in Atlanta and arriving home earlier}in our flights and we now have better flights so for the moment we are okay.

By the way, my daughter's name is Dana and her middle name starts with M!

Everytime I see your screen name, I think of her!

Deb,
Glad your flights worked out. Is your daughter's middle name Marie by chance? What a coincidence that would be.

Reward flights open earlier than expected.

I have half of a trip booked with rewards points, so I have been checking Delta's flights daily to see when reward seats actually open up because it isn't always 331 days. However, in my experience if it isn't 331 days, it's longer not shorter. But today I checked AMS-ATL, and skysaver seats were open for 3-8-09. According to my handle little excel day calculation reminder, that is NOT 331 days, it's 333. If I try for 3/9/09 I do get the "check and make sure your flight is 331 days out" message, but it does appear some flights are opening up earlier than the 331 days.

Mohini, not Marie. IF that were your middle name, it would be a way bigger coincidence.
